The Golden Pen

Scribblers favourite The Golden Pen returns!

Tuesday 5 March – Monday 26 August 2024

This year, our theme is Rebels & Dreamers and we welcome fiction, poetry, memoir, comics, graphic novels, picture books or song lyrics.

Will you create a character who rebels against expectations or stands up for something important? Will you dream up a whole new world? Or will you put yourself in the story?

Whatever Rebels & Dreamers means for you, this is a challenge to be courageous and imagine something new.

Prizes include book vouchers, cash, workshops, and a VIP trip to the Family Festival.

The competition is for Western Australian children and young people in Years 4 – 12.
Classroom entries are welcomed. Teachers can find tips to help young people share their stories in the Teachers’ Lounge and posters and social media tiles to help promote the competition.

Entries are open now and close on Monday 26 August 2024.
